Chess for Success provides after-school chess clubs for 3,200 K-8 students in 81 schools.
The mission of Chess for Success is to help children develop skills necessary for success in school and life by learning chess.
Participating schools host after-school chess clubs taught by a teacher and paid by Chess for Success. We require not fees from the schools or the children to participate. Our goals are to include our program in all Oregon and SW Washington low-income elementary & middle schools; increase opportunities for students to learn academic and social skills; and increase parent involvement in club and tournament activities.
